Women and Youth Initiatives is a non-Government Organization founded by God fearing, knowledgeable and experienced men and women of Tanzania. As a concept, WYI aims at empowering women and youth to collectively address the micro and macro felt social, economical and physical needs through time in a defined area. It also aims at promoting women and youth through advocacy and awareness.
WYI works closely with women and youth building capacity, promote awareness and advocating in the areas of leadership, gender based violence, human rights, entrepreneurship skills, reproductive health, hygiene, sanitation, nutrition and all the necessary affairs associated to women and youth.
It also intends to work hand in hand with the Government of Tanzania through combating various obstacles to economic and social opportunities while comprising strategies the Government of Tanzania has planned for future development of women and youth. Led by passion to serve women and youth, WYI recognizes that, empowering women and youth is every body’s duty and involves a concerted efforts of a number of key stakeholders such as Community Based Organizations, Faith Based Organization, News and information Agencies, professionals and experienced persons in various fields, Individuals, Public and Private Institutions.
WYI recognizes, when women and youth are empowered in all socio and economic aspects they are the source of development. Though the members of WYI feel and appreciate various roles played by different Institutions still, was mindful of the need to form a Non-Governmental Organization to facilitate, share and expand knowledge, skills and talents among women and youth.
