Why Women and Youth

Women and Youth have been facing with problems of being exploited, poor living condition, in access of education services, health services and poor infrastructures. These hinder future development and sustainability despite governments’ efforts in eradicating the said problems.

Therefore the initiatives of women and youth will ensure the community is fighting against poverty, ignorance and gender discrimination.Women participation in leadership position and politics in Tanzania remains as challenge unless there is a change in the community over the wrong perception on women in leadership and the leading government willing to restructure laws and policies to enhance equal participation in politics.

Due to culture(Male supremacy) that influence Tanzanian political settings women exclude themselves from participating. Poor access to education leave women with less competence compared to men though most of them attain the compulsory education.

They cannot go further due to early pregnancy/marriage remaining inferior to men. Women are also subjected to sex corruption due to lack of money to run their activities during election a situation which disappoints them from participating in politics and leadership position. Since gender issues are regarded as non issue in politics women are disinterested in participating.

Luck of civic and voter education make women unaware of their rights and responsibility in the society.
